Transfer of Boko Haram detainees to Anambra Prisons: Gov releases statement

The attention of the governor of Anambra State,
Chief Willie Obiano has been drawn to the cover
story of Vanguard and Daily Independent on
Friday, July 3, 2015, crediting him with some
comments on the transfer of Boko Haram
detainees to Ekwulobia Prisons in Anambra
State.
We wish to inform the general public that
Governor Obiano never made any comments to
these publications.
Since the eruption of this controversy, Governor
Obiano’s position has been consistent. This is
fully reflected in the two Press Statements issued
on Sunday, June 28, 2015 and Wednesday July 1,
2015.
In both statements, his message was simple – he
re-assured Ndi Anambra that he was on top of
the situation and that he was speaking with the
relevant authorities to achieve a peaceful
resolution of the issue. Governor Obiano’s
commitment to this extremely sensitive issue
remains the same.
The Limit to Bitter Politics For the avoidance of
doubt, Governor Willie Obiano is aware of the
strong feelings provoked by Boko Haram among
Ndi Anambra and the people of the South East.
Therefore, he shall never use this subject of pain
and anguish to play politics.
Those who are not held back by any moral
considerations in their pursuit of power, cheap
popularity and vendetta are free to play with the
agony of the people for their narrow interests. But
for Obiano, certain things are bigger than politics.
He therefore appeals to Ndi Anambra to go about
their normal businesses while he continues to
engage the relevant authorities on the matter.

Cementing Dangote's Oligopoly & Nigerians in poverty, CBN bans importation of Cement

Article written by Dr. Perry Brimah of Ends.ng.
Read below...
The June 23rd ban on importation of cement and
39 other items contained in a letter by the
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria has been
received with mixed feelings. The extensive list
does contain some necessary bans which will
help Nigeria's small scale industries, the number
one employer of labor in the staggering nation,
however, not unexpectedly, hidden within the list
of banned items are additional skews to secure
the stupendous wealth of Nigeria's known cabal
and ensure the continued crippling of the Nigerian
masses.
It is the nature of the world today where the
masses are naked and exposed to the greedy and
insatiable desires of the cabal elements with no
form of protection other than the wailing voices
of overburdened right advocates.
We Are Actually The Largest Employers Of Labor
In Nigeria, Not Dangote And Other Cabal
]There is a lie oft told, and as they say, if a lie is
told so many times it becomes truthy (that new
lingo dedicated to George Bush in his pursuit of
the war against Iraq). That lies is that Dangote
and Atiku are the biggest employers of labour in
Nigeria. It is a colossal lie. Whereas these two
cabal employ under 100,000 Nigerians combined,
we are actually the largest employers of labor...
yes, we the ordinary people, the several million
SMEs. SME stands for Small and Medium
Enterprises; not the large industry. The cottage
manufacturers and cottage service providers. It is
us who employ over 30 million Nigerians, the real
numbers that count, not the ever protected cabal
who employ only a handful of us yet are always
benefactors and influencers of government
policies while we are never invited to the meetings
and get no perks.
So while industries like toothpicks, glass wear,
textiles, meat products and others in the ban list,
that are the occupation of SMEs is a useful drive
that will actually protect the Naira and drive
employment, the ban of the importation of
cement added to the list, an absolute oligopoly
that Nigeria has criminally bestowed on Dangote
is a stab in the hope and future of Nigeria and
another gift of the earnings of the masses to our
billionaire, insatiable cabal.
It is a conspiracy to defraud the masses for the
government to protect and enforce the purchase
of a singular private, unregulated oligopoly. The
Central Bank is in this June 23rd decree engaging
in conspiracy to defraud Nigeria's poorest and
maintain unbearable hardship on Nigerian
property owners, property hopefuls, renters and
property investors. Indeed every Nigerian is being
robbed and punished by this CBN move.
It must be noted that manufacturing is never by
force as there are various types and other options
for economies; indeed manufacturing is no longer
synonymous with development as advanced
economies are now 'service' based and not
industry-based. And industry which leads to
environmental pollution and degradation is only
of value if it provides items at prices within
global competitive costs.
Nigeria Gave Dangote Cement Billions To Sell Us
Cement At Triple The Global Average
Through the years, Dangote cement has been
given numberless government perks and gifts. The
spoiled company has been given gas power, given
duty free import waivers to enable it import
needed and un-needed machinery and equipment,
literally running its own private and unregulated
sea port. Dangote as with other cabal, the
smallest employers of Nigeria as earlier
mentioned have been given bailouts -- gifts of
billions of dollars, an advantage we the largest
employers never benefit from. Dangote cement
has been literally dashed Nigeria's cement plants.
The company has benefited from policies that
frustrated its competitors and importers of
cement. And in return, this private company has
decided to cut up billions in quarterly profits to
its PDP, private bank (Zenith etc) and other
government parastatal shareholders via selling
cement at thrice the global average, rather than
offer Nigerians cement at a world lowest price to
show appreciation for the billions in concessions
we have given it.
When compared for instance, in the UAE, Etisalat
is majorly government owned, so when its
oligopoly is enforced this provides wealth to the
State, and wealth that has been used to build
world renowned and recognized infrastructure and
provide enviable benefits to its people. But in the
Nigerian case, like the masses are fools, the
government invests in private oligopolies and
forces the masses to patronize these exploitative
profiteers to no personal benefit... except hearing
the cabal owners' names listed in Forbes as the
world's top billionaires who made money from the
sucking dry and murder of the Nigerian masses.
The Dangote Oligopoly Has Crippled Nigerian
Construction And Foreign Investment
Not only have Nigerians been unable to build and
repair their homes because we are forced to buy
Dangote cement at twice and thrice the global
average cost, while watching the company divide
massive quarterly dividends; and not only have
we been forced to scrounge our cement,
which has led to our homes collapsing and people
dying; but also foreign companies have rejected
building in Nigeria and rather opted for South
Africa because of the cost of cement in our dear
nation.
So while Godwin's ban on products that will allow
healthy competition and opportunity for growth of
Nigeria's number 1 employers, us SMEs, the
deliberate inclusion of bans to further deflate the
masses and sure-up the exploitation by the cabal
oligopolies is another straw on this camel's back.
Perhaps the straw that will break its back.
On a final note, one has to ask: who is at these
Zenith bank's Godwin CBN meetings where he
comes up with these policies? Dangote, Jonathan,
Obasanjo and who? Is this how a democracy is
run? There is God.

Woman resigns rather than issue gay marriage licence in the US

Linda Barnette has issued marriage licenses in
Grenada County, Missisipi for 24yrs. On Tuesday
June 30th, she resigned rather than issue gay
marriage licenses, writing in her letter of
resignation;
"I choose to obey God rather than man. I am
a follower of Christ and I believe strongly
that the Bible is my final authority. The Bible
teaches that a marriage is to be between a
man and a woman. Therefore, because of the
recent ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court, I
can no longer fulfill my duties as Circuit
Clerk and issue marriage licenses to same
sex couples."
“I told my supervisors a while back if it
happened, I would tender my resignation. I
had already decided in my heart that I could
not issue marriage licenses to same sex
couples. It’s my Christian belief. As a
follower of Christ, I could not do it. The Bible
teaches it is contrary to His plan.” she told a

Wimbledon 2015: Serena Williams survives against Watson

A relieved Serena Williams dug deep to beat
Heather Watson 7-5 in the third set of their third-
round match at Wimbledon.
(CNN)— Haven't we seen this from Serena
Williams before?
Yes, in fact, only a few weeks ago.
It was at the French Open last month when the
world No. 1 toiled, needing to rally from a set
down four times and coming back from a break
deficit in the third set of the final against Lucie
Safarova. . She ultimately landed a landmark 20th
major.
On Friday at Wimbledon in London, Williams dug
deep to fend off home favorite Heather Watson
6-2 4-6 7-5 in the third round, keeping alive her
hopes of completing the "Serena Slam" for a
second time and winning all four majors in a
season.
But the 59th-ranked Watson -- roared on by the
British faithful on Center Court -- gave Williams
her toughest match this summer. She was two
points away from victory deep in the third set,
when the American appeared to cry.
"I honestly didn't think I ... was going to win,"
Williams told reporters. "How I pulled through, I
really don't know. I just was like, listen, if I'm
going to go lose, I'm going to lose trying to do
the right things."
She subsequently said she wasn't about to
answer any more questions about the "Serena Slam" -- winning four straight majors -- or the
possibility of claiming all four majors in one
season. Perhaps the pressure played a part in
Friday's outing, then.

See Why President Buhari Hasn’t Intervened In The National Assembly Crisis

As the lawmakers in the House of Representatives
on Thursday engaged in a free-for-all fight over
the sharing of principal offices by the APC, it has
been revealed that president Buhari will not
intervene in the crisis just yet. This was made
known by the Senior Special Assistant to the
President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba
Shehu.
Speaking on Channels TV Sunrise program,he
insisted that Buhari would not intervene in the
leadership crisis until the APC state governors
asked him to do so.
He said,
“When the governors met with the President,
they told him that ‘we are the leaders in our
states and we have influence over all of
these senators. They come from our places
and from us and we can handle it.’ “The
President will step into the crisis at the point
when the governors say they can no longer
fix it.”
Yesterday, aggrieved APC members took to
physical comb at after the speaker ofthe house
failed to name the principal officers authorized in
the letter by the party .. They tore each other’s
clothes, threw punches, and shouted on top of
their voices. Many chanted “Dogara, Dogara”,
“Give us our leaders”, “Party is supreme’’, “PDP,
power”, “APC, change” and “APC, shame”
Some members, led by a lawmaker from Sokoto
State, Mr. Balarabe Salame, attempted to snatch
the mace, but the Sergeant-at-Arms and other
lawmakers quickly rescued the authority symbol
of the legislative House and deposited same in
the Speaker’s office.

Nigeria struck by new wave of Boko Haram atrocities.

Nigeria soldiers

Boko Haram fighters have waged new attacks on
a series of towns and villages, killing at least 160
people.
Early on Friday morning, at least 11 men were
dragged from their homes in the village of Miringa
by Boko Haram and shot for escaping forced
conscription by their group, residents said.
In another set of attacks earlier on Thursday, two
girls wrapped with explosives blew themselves up
at a crowded market and a military checkpoint in
Malari, outside Maiduguri, killing at least 13
people.
The violence on Thursday and Friday morning
came just hours after Boko Haram fighters
murdered around 145 worshippers in the town of
Kukawa, just as they were preparing to open their
fast.
Reacting to the series of attacks in the
northeastern states, President Buhari said the
violence highlighted the need "to form a more
effective international coalition against insurgency
and terrorism in Nigeria and neighbouring
countries."
Residents described how the fighters entered the
homes and executed the men in Miringa.
Baballe Mohammed, a resident in the village, said
the gunmen came to the village around 1.30am
on Friday morning. They "picked 13 men from
selected homes and took them to the Eid prayer
ground outside the village where they opened fire
on them," he said, adding two managed to
escape.
"The victims were well targeted because they
were all residents of Gwargware village... who
fled to Miringa some months ago to escape
forced conscription by Boko Haram."
The spike in violence has sparked concern that
earlier victories claimed by the armies of Nigeria,
Niger, Chad and Cameroon in the region are being
eroded [Reuters]
Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege, reporting from Abuja,
said Boko Haram had embarked on a "really
bloody 72 hours in Borno State", and the worst of
the attacks had taken place in Kukawa, 180km
northeast of Maiduguri, the biggest city in
northeast Nigeria.
The spate of attacks follow a directive from the
Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group
for fighters to increase attacks during Ramadan.
Boko Haram this year became ISIL's West African
franchise.

The Nigerian group, whose birthplace is
Maiduguri, often defiles mosques where it
believes imams espouse too moderate a form of
Islam.
An estimated 13,000 people killed in the 6-year-
old insurgency.
Amnesty International puts the toll at 17,000
dead. Another 1.5 million people have been driven
from their homes.

Petrol shortage will end when FG pays N200bn – Marketers

Oil marketers in Nigeria have said that the fuel scarcity being experienced in the country will continue until the Federal Government pays the remaining N200 billion subsidy debt it owes them.
The marketers also said that fuel is coming into the country but it’s not adequate enough to meet demand.
This was disclosed on Friday, May 15, 2015, by the Executive Secretary of the Major Oil Marketers Association (MOMAN), Obafemi Olawore.
“It is not that we are not bringing in fuel. The problem is that we are not bringing enough and the reason we are not bringing enough is simple. If you pay 154 [billion Naira] out of out of 354 [billion Naira] you are left with 200 [billion Naira]. That is not up to 50 per cent,” Olawore said.
“What we are saying is that we should make attempt to pay. Banks should agree to open their lines of credit so that we can access funds and bring in more products while the government talks to us. As we speak, nobody is talking, so we do not know the thinking of anybody. There is no crime in asking for the money. They are owing us some money and we want the money,” he added.
The government had earlier paid the marketers N156 billion as part of the subsidy debt owed.

Senator-elect Dino Melaye calls President Jonathan a ‘promoter of corruption.’

Senator-elect, Dino Melaye, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration is the most corrupt in Nigeria’s history.

Melaye, a former House of Representatives member, also called Jonathan a ‘promoter of corruption.’
The Senator-elect made the comments during an interview with Premium Times.
“Jonathan is the promoter of corruption. I am telling you that the Government of Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan is the most corrupt in Nigerian history but (who) we have as president-elect of this country today (Muhammadu Buhari); the man I see as the nemesis of corruption,” Melaye said.
“Change! I am an advocate of anti-corruption and for me if I enter office, I am going to do it more this time around. More importantly, now that we have a government that is going to have zero tolerance for corruption, we must as legislators carry out our functions from any form of sacrifice,” he added.
“Either at the national assembly, we will be drastically checked. Legislators need to check if they are on the side of the people or side of their pockets. They must be content because you have to live a life of sacrifice,” Melaye said.
“If we supervise the MDAs, N3billion will not be budgeted for the travels of Mr. President in a year. Where is the president going? Is he the supervisor of the world?” the Senator-elect asked.
Jonathan will hand over to President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, May 29, 2015.

The BeyHive and Rihanna Navy come for Ciara on instagram

Beyonce and Rihanna's fans joined forces to attack Ciara after she said in an interview with The Guardian that the two singers are not her competition. Below is the article from The Guardian...
"Despite her success – 2010’s Basic Instinct is the only one of her albums not to reach the US top5 – she's never become a household name like Rihanna or BeyoncĂ©.
“You know what I think?” she asks, rhetorically. “Everything’s about timing. I’ve had records just as big as those artists, I’ve had No 1 songs around the world. My biggest competition is me.” That and her old label, perhaps. After Basic Instinct only reached No 44, she left LaFace/Jive, announcing on Facebook that they had not supported her enough. Her next album, Ciara, released on Epic, duly went to No 2. “There’s no doubt in my mind how high up this train can go,” she says calmly. “I faced those challenges. I don’t see myself beneath BeyoncĂ© and Jay Z; I don’t see myself above them. I’m in my own world, hungry to grow.”
After this segment of the interview circulated online, Ciara's Instagram page simultaneously erupted into swarms of bees and hundreds of anchors. See pictures below;
